I’m sure most of you have been to a Chinese restaurant and gotten a fortune cookie. Most of the fortunes are pretty good ones and others don’t make sense. My fortune today gave me what I thought to be a valuable life lesson. It’s inspired me to write today’s entry and share it with you.
The fortune reads like this: “Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out.” I think there is a valuable lesson here. Sure, we all have rough days. Who doesn’t? It’s a fact of life that you will have good days and bad days. Things can go wrong, and they can go right. What you must do is make the best of them. Try to dodge the occasional curveball and make the best of your day. Try to find a positive aspect in a bad day. True, it might be hard to do (I’m guilty of this as well), but you gotta try.
Remember, God is in control and on your side. He’s handling everything for you. God may simply be throwing something at you to see how you may take it. Remember Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” He knows what He’s doing. Continue to let Him guide you down the path that He has laid out for you.
When I have a bad day, I try to think of the above Bible verse and find my positive aspect: God is with me always and is in control. I just hand my day to Him and let Him guide me through the day. I wake up every morning thankful for what He has done for me.
God has done so much for us and we shouldn’t stress when we have bad days. Keep finding your positive aspect and remember God is always on your side.
I love this blog and I think this applies to what I’m talking about: http://www.fctulsa.tv/content.cfm?id=151&blog_id=162. This is a blog entry by the lead pastor of Foundations Church, Justin Graves. I know I am guilty of everything I have written and what I have read in the blog.
We can’t live life day by day just trying to survive. That’s not the attitude we should have. We should live each day positively and for God.
Remember: “Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out.”
Be blessed!
Chris
